I was out this evening, checked the score before I left and Spurs were 1-0 up just saw the final score now
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Remember a time when they were THE great team throughout sections of the media ?
They could do no wrong etc
I still think they have a very strong squad with some excellent players but either the manager can’t get through to them anymore or some have stopped listening.
I saw Mourinho mentioned in a later post, I think he’d make them a horrible side to play against.
I watched the game last night and Spurs were better for long periods- the difference between the sides was finishing. Bayern’s goals were nearly all worldies, added to that Spurs fell apart towards the end.
I’m not ‘defending’ them and I laughed as the goals flew in. My point is that they are still a good side but something needs to change because their form over the last 20 games or so has been shocking.
I've watched the highlights and I've got to say that Bayern's finishing was exceptional. Spurs had their chances and didn't take them. I don't know of the the stats but it wouldn't surprise me if Bayern had 9 shots on goal.
Strange game as I thought Spurs had them on the ropes for he first 30. Bayern couldn't handle the press and were far too languid on the ball. Hence the first goal and some other good chances.
The problem seemed to me was that rather picking their moments to high press, they did it every single time, right out of the blocks, and just ran out of steam on 30 minutes from then on, Bayern were bypassing their front 6 with just one (albeit clever) pass.
Credit to Bayern though as they did play but after first 30, you were thinking Spurs win.
