feel very deflated at that fact; how many rabbits can a klopp/klopp clone seriously expect to pull out of the hat

I think it’s more to do with how City play. They keep the ball forever, therefore conserve energy. Of course, their strength in depth and quality count, but never stopped more or less the same team trail us by 18 points last year.
      Are we winning?

That's not really the point that's being made though Fredo. Without the resources available City couldn't make the changes and still remain effective.

My youngest making his debut as a GK today. He only took it up 4 weeks ago.

          He seems fine. I’m nervous.

Hopefully he enjoys it and gets a clean sheet

they do not compromise whatsoever when they rotate, it's a huge advantage. Functional rotation throughout the season with little drop off in quality. That's what happens when you buy with a blank cheque and can pay any amount of wages... you end up with high quality players throughout the entire squad.

Fredo does have a point about their possession football and conserving energy. Although we dominate games possession wise too but when we have had to rotate this season, injuries and lack of quality has left us bare bones and knackered. Scary thing is they are going to buy a worldie striker this summer too.

Yeah but the second part couldn't be implemented without the quality in depth. It's not a level playing field which is what the person that tweeted was making a point about

                  1-5 defeat.

Made no obvious mistakes from him, I’ll settle for that. They went 1 up and missed a few chances. Late flurries of goals in each half did for them.

Utd letting Donny van de Beek, their £40m midfield answer to Ben Davies, get his first start in Europe for them. He also has 2 PL starts all season.

There’s always something funny about a sacked manager beating his former side. This time it was for a place in a final **** off Arsenal. Congrats Alberto Moreno.

We slag off United under Ole and yes they have massive gaps but they’ll most likely win another “major” trophy this season. I hope whatever **** European competition we qualify for that we actually win it and add to the board. Winning breeds winning - even an occasional FA cup would be nice as it is more silverware and grows the honours list

Would love if Emery somehow managed to get Villareal to do it. Would be brilliant.

If United do it, then you are right. The fact that they also get to play in the euro super cup then just gives them more experience as a team going forward

If they win the Europa League again, won't they just be the Seville of the PL?

Doesn’t matter - it’s a competition they were in and they will most likely win and add another trophy to the board. Their young players get used to winning

Europa is **** but at least a trophy

Yep getting used to being in the chase for silverware and winning silverware are very good habits for players to develop.

As you said, it gets the younger players in the habit of winning and of expecting to win, plus it creates at attitude amongst the team as a whole of being able to break other teams if they go at them enough.

Just look at us under Klopp. We started getting to finals, lost a few along the way, but it created that mentality of being there at the sharp end of competitions.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
