Possibly because of Klippity Klopp being vaguely similar to Clickity Click which I think is a bingo call. Or more likely becasue the are lunatics!

Bearing in mind the record fee paid by a British club at that time was £50,000 (ironically spent by City on Law) it was a phenomenal amount for a second division club.

Thats not ironic, that torpedoes the notional point they are attempting to make.

I loved the equivalent to Huddersfield today spending £75m and £60m, as if the football landscape is the same now as it was then. The whole football level and finance was much flatter and equal than it is now.
