Rashford again.
I can’t get over how switched on he is for 24. He understands the actual society we all live in, not the fabricated one we read about.
He quite cleverly, never ever politicises, he goes to the heart of the matter and makes his point there.

Heartbreaking, and more common than I suspect anyone is prepared to admit.
Rashford said: “I only started reading at 17, and it completely changed my outlook and mentality. I just wish I was offered the opportunity to really engage with reading more as a child, but books were never a thing we could budget for as a family when we needed to put food on the table.
“There were times where the escapism of reading could have really helped me. I want this escapism for all children. Not just those that can afford it. We know there are over 380,000 children across the UK today that have never owned a book, children that are in vulnerable environments. That has to change. My books are, and always will be, for every child, even if I have to deliver them myself. We will reach them.”Modifying post.

Think thats why he is cutting through so much. No shouting and hollering when the Government didnt do as he campaigned for. Just called for more conversations and pushed it along. Even had people like Nigel Farage on his side ffs.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostRashford again.

Will be fascinating to see what Rashford does after football. It’s some profile he already has. A very impressive young man.
Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford has spoken to former US President Barack Obama about how young people can impact society.
Rashford, 23, led a campaign to tackle child food poverty last year during the coronavirus pandemic and was appointed an MBE.
He has also set up a book club to get disadvantaged children reading more.
"A lot of the young people I meet - including Marcus - they're ahead of where I was when I was 23," said Obama.
"They're already making changes and being positive forces in their communities."
Obama, 59, and Rashford spoke over a video conference and also discussed their shared experiences, including being raised by single mothers.
Rashford said it was "quite surreal" to speak to the 44th US President while sitting in his kitchen.
"But, immediately, he made me feel at ease," he added.
"It wasn't long before I realised just how aligned our experiences as children were in shaping the men you see today - adversity, obstacles and all.
"I genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. When President Obama speaks, all you want to do is listen."Modifying post.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Rashford is an inspiration to us as we're a bit older but you wonder if his work outside football gets much notice from the youth
