... POV probably dictated by where we all are in terms of supporting hence the futility of this.

Disenfranchised England supporters (I'm assuming) going to be in a different place than 'can't believe we are in a tournament' Scotland supporter.

Like I’ve said, I don’t think the first 2 rounds mean a great deal when so many teams fortunes are determined by what happens on game 3 and two thirds of the pack are going through anyway after so many games.

The group stage is the biggest phase of the tournament, I just think it should be more vital and decisive in terms of getting through to the knock outs. As it is now in the World Cup since 98 and used to be in the Euros. And is in the CL.

I was fine with disagreeing btw!

Not for me, I’ve no skin in the game. I am happy for some of the teams benefiting from it, but I still think it’s a diluted format. My country did benefit from it in 2016 and I still thought it was lame then

I’m giving myself a ‘last word freak’ rep here.

I think the skin In the game is everything for me this year!

And he was still playing players who didn’t make the squad a week before the tournament.

Have to say I've been pretty impressed by the officials in this tournament. They don't seem to be falling for the 'I've been touched and thrown myself to the floor' bollocks that we see in most Premier League games
Oh triffic......so while you're up the road jollying it up, it's touch your toes time for Rodney

I can't believe Henderson looks likely to miss out again tonight. He's England's best CM and he's nowhere near the team. If he's fit enough to be in the squad and on the bench then surely he's fit enough to play. Rice is a total myth and a CM of Henderson and Bellingham imo is miles better than Rice and Phillips.

I was sure he’d be back tonight?

Declan Rice and Calvin Phillips is not the midfield that will win this tournament for England.

The leaks so far (Paul Joyce has done something in the Times) reckons Grealish will come in for Mount, Walker back in at RB, Shaw stays at LB, Saka might come into the front three and possibly Maguire for Mings. That's it.

                    I'd go something like:

                    Pickford

                    Trippier
                    Stones
                    Maguire
                    Shaw

                    Henderson
                    Bellingham
                    Grealish

                    Sancho
                    Kane
                    Foden

No pace in that team but whoever you pick there's going to be major issues

Henderson shouldn't even be in the squad. He's been out for months.

I’d definitely play Bellingham also. He looks brilliant. Much better than either Rice or Phillips.

It’s just amazing that he hasn’t bottomed out some of these selection issues.

Let’s hope it goes better for Scotland than that game.
