They had a bid accepted for Martinez who turned the move down w d now heavily linked to Vlahovic.....l.I think Kane will go and Spurs will buy a couple of more players. They have Bryan Gil also,who is a wide forward

I didn't realize there is largely a blackout on Saturday games at 3pm on TV in UK and Ireland as in Germany and Australia, getting a subscription or two means you get access to all the games.

This is the most illogical, most stupid move. Wouldn't the league make even more money selling these rights.

Only a fraction of football fans can afford to go to live games any given weekend, so the argument for the blackout to incentivise going to live football has no merit.

Am I missing something? It seems bizarre that people from the leagues country who are most into it cannot watch all games even if they pay for subscriptions

From memory it's illegalto broadcastllive ffootball iin the UK between 2.30 and 5.15. I rememberone year sky had a soccer Saturday effect for the El Classico one year when it had kicked off at 5pm UK. Couldn't turn live pics on till 15 mins in to the game

They don't TBH....used to have slightly deferred games on Saturday on RTE, but not for years since the pay channels took right over.
Premier Sports, and Setanta previously, still show games at 3pm (Leeds v Everton earlier.......but would usually be ourselves or ManU if it was a Sat 3pm)

All about protecting the match-going revenue in England, perhaps a remnant of simpler times, but it is what it is...Pandemic has been the exception.
