Yeah good for him, hope this can bring about a change and let more people in the game come out and tell people who they really are.

It takes alot of guts to do so respect to him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

          Good for him.

Hopefully his journey will encourage others to do the same.

I think it is sad that in 2022 that this is even a story.

A man or woman being gay, straight, bi , trans or whatever should really be a non story. It should simply be a case of peole being who they are and nobody bats an eyelid.

But we do not live in that world or at least a lot of people do not live in that world so the lad coming out as he did desrves kudos and I hope that him doing that in some way helps others who are in the same boat as he was.

Well done Jake. Soak in the praise you get and just blank out the knuckle
draggers. And more importantly than any of that, I hope you are with someone you love and who makes you feel loved, and if not I hope you find that in the future.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Really shouldn't be a big deal. Unfortunately it is a huge one.

Let's hope people really support him now and it might make it easier for others to come out publicly if they want to!

                    We are where we are.

Attitudes are changing (at least on the surface) this will be the acid test of how progressive football crowds are. It will play out well in the media at first, but the reality is everything else is untested. I have my doubts that football fans en masse and society is as progressive as we want it to be.

Which is why it is a big deal. I saw him interviewed this morning and he is an incredibly articulate young man. The great thing about his youth is that he perhaps isnt quite as aware of the massive step he is forcing football to take.

Good on him for being so brave, hopefully his actions encourage the others that have not felt enabled to come out to do so.

And then, one day in the future this sort of thing will not have to be a talking point at all.

I think football grounds in the UK will be absolutely fine, Any idiots will be drowned out and singled out same as the racist abuse.

I would worry if a higher profile player came out, how he would be treated in some less progressive ountries

This is the sort of turd they have to put up with from fellow footballers, utter backward thinking. Kouyate
