As much as it pains me to admit it, he probably is though. Even if he irritates the life out of me he is a genuine world class striker who has been putting up amazing numbers for about 8 or 9 years now.Last edited by danperkins; 25-01-23, 01:43 PM.

Yeah one rule for a foreign player & another for golden boy Hawwy. He is prolific though.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostIt's the Audi cup. Only the best in the world couyld have won that.
Did chuckle last night when a few of the talking heads on Sky were again talking about Kane moving to Man U this summer and how he might need to force the move.
Just amused me how a foreign player refusing to play gets slagged off but when King Harry did it a while back it was fine and again last night they were talking about the idea of him forcing a move as being some sort of proper thing to do.
Also had more than a few chuckles every time they referred to him as one of the current best players in the world.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

That was not how it was phrased. He was called one of the best players in the world, as being in the top three or four best players in the world based as much on his all round play as his finishing.
He would not make the top three attacking players in the world let alone the top three or four players regardless of position.
Not saying he is not a top class finisher/striker but he is not a "best in the world" level player in my eyes.
Looking at who is out there now, would anyone say he is a better striker than say two from Haaland, Lewandowski, Benzema or Mbappe?
If we open it up further and add the best attackers in the game be they wingers, wide forwards, centre forwards or attacking midfielders does Kane still finish in the top three or four?
It made me chuckle like a child to hear him being regarded as one of the very best players in the world and I shall continue to scoff at the notion because I am taking any win I can this season.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He’s definitely a genuine world class bottlerOriginally posted by danperkins View PostAs much as it pains me to admit it, he probably is though. Even if he irritates the life out of me he is a genuine world class striker.
He turns 30 in a few months and has won absolutely nothing in his career.
Went completely missing in the Champions League final and bottled it in the world cup finals last month.
You can never be considered world class with that kind of ****e record.Last edited by rudedog; 25-01-23, 01:55 PM.

I'd say he is in the top 10, he's been averaging about 29/30 goals a season for the best part of a decade, already on 18 this season, his passing imo is insanely under rated & has massively improved over the years. He works his bollox off, has a lovely strike of a ball, hold play is good and he makes great runs. I think his all round game is excellent. His one big minus is not moving to a bigger club to see if he can do it with that big club expectation, well that and being a diving cunt.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostThat was not how it was phrased. Has won the golden boot 3 times in the toughest league in the world, been in the prem team of the year 5 times & got the golden boot in the world cup. He has lots of individual honors but much likes the Shearer's of this world, he has stayed too long at Spurs and not achieved what his individual brilliance deserved. He is world class imo, no question about it.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHe’s definitely a genuine world class bottler

Will always have the whiff of being another Le Tissier for me.
Excellent up to a certain level, but untested beyond that level.
You say he is in the top ten.
Top ten what though?
You saying that for you he is in the top ten players in the world or is it the top ten attackers or the top ten strikers?I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He maybe even sneaks into top 5 current best strikers imo. Likes of Mbappe, he also needs to get out of Ligue 1 and see if he can still get the numbers he's been getting just as Kane needs to leave Spurs. Kane is also on a different level than LeTiss.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostWill always have the whiff of being another Le Tissier for me.

Regarding anyone making a "top ten" players. Would many defenders make it in? I don't think so but not many people consider defenders or GKs as they are more unsung heroes. Midfielders Kdb and Modric maybe. Then you have Haaland, Mbappe, Lewan, Benzema.
Even if you didn't think he makes it on current top ten players in the world which is some list to be on, he is mighty close and for me he would make it on the current top ten. I would say he is one of the best players in the world at the moment if are talking about the top ten.Last edited by danperkins; 25-01-23, 11:29 PM.

Why would defenders not make it, or goalkeepers?
VVD of a couple seasons back would be a shoo in. Alisson is either the best or second best keeper in the game so him in a top tem players list would be no shock.
KDB would not make a top ten anymore imo, as he is not quite the player he was a few seasons ago. Still very good but the only way he makes best of the best lists is if people judge him on how he was in the past and ignore the here and now.
Kane for me suffers from big fish in a small pond syndrome. There is that doubt about him whether or not he could replicate what he does at any team. Excellent finisher and is a good player within a team that is pretty much built around him, but could he do a Lewandowski and just rattle in goals no matter what team or set up he was played within? I'm not so sure.
Comes nowhere close to being on a top ten players (all positions included) list for me.
Does not make a top ten attacking players list for me either.
Top ten strikers currently playing though....he is not going to make top five imo but should get into that top ten.
Though I will say that if you took the Kane of say last season and the two seasons before that, you could have put him into our front lines from the same seasons in place of Firmino and I think he would have thrived and racked up a crazy number of assists and a fair share of goals.I don't hate people. I was just asking the question, I never said they wouldn't or shouldn't. Usually if you look at the Balon D'Or attacking players usually win it. I can think of Cannavaro maybe that won it and was a defender in the last 30 or 40 years. It might not be fair but that just seems to be the way it is. As I said Kane needs to move, just the same as Mbappe but likes of Ligue 1 is a joke of a league so I take stats there with a bit of a pinch of salt.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostWhy would defenders not make it, or goalkeepers?

Just for ****s and giggles if you have time, who would be your top ten in no particular of the worlds best players? Realistically, at the moment I can only think of Benzema, Mbappe, Haaland & Lewandowski. Even midfielders I can only think of KDB ( hasn't been at his best this season) & Modric. I might be missing one of two but I just don't see many other players apart from the ones mentioned that could be considered currently better than him. I know it's all subjective but Kane has been putting up ridiculous numbers, in the toughest league in the world the last 9 years or so. He is a world class footballer imo no question, whether people think he's "top ten" or "one of the best in the world" I suppose is up for debate.
22/23: Goals 18 Assists 3
21/22: Goals 27 Assists 10
20/21: Goals 33 Assists 17
19/20: Goals 24 Assists 2
18/19: Goals 24 Assists 6
18/18: Goals 41 Assists 5
16/17: Goals 35 Assists 7
15/16: Goals 28 Assists 2
14/15: Goals 31 Assists 6
The seasons were he didn't score as high as others was injury related so there's a difference of of 15 games or so. He's a goal machine.Last edited by danperkins; 26-01-23, 07:11 PM.

I had a think about this earlier and struggled.Originally posted by danperkins View PostJust for ****s and giggles if you have time, who would be your top ten in no particular of the worlds best players? Realistically, at the moment I can only think of Benzema, Mbappe, Haaland & Lewandowski.
If you want to be a bit edgy you could say Osimhen as the 5th pick.
I'm struggling to see any sort of decent argument as to why Kane wouldn't be classed amongst the top 5 strikers in the world.

My ten best in the world in no particular order on current/recent form ( Jan 2022 to Jan 2023 just to narrow it down rather than picking guys who were amazing 12 or 24 months ago but who have faded the past 12 months like Salah for example )
Haaland
Lewandowski
Vinicius Junior (Kvaratskhelia would have made it had he a further six months of form. Saka if he keeps going and improving might get in this time next year)
Alisson (just pipped Courtois)
Mbappe
Pedri
Kimmich
Militao ( Kim Min-Jae might make it next year if he continues the form he has been in since the summer)
Benzema
Hakami
Subjective of course and someone else might pick ten totally different players and think them the ten current best.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 26-01-23, 10:16 PM.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
