That would be a red card in Rugby, let alone football.

In Rugby you are allowed to compete in the air but you must be competing, and if you lift someone from the ground you have a duty to safely put them back down.

So that’s a red in Rugby which ever way you look at it. It has to be in football but seems to not be on the radar of the officials at all.

In his defence, martinelli doesn't necessarily know whether the defender is going to jump for the ball or barge him in the back to win the header. He will probably claim that the arse out move is a defensive act against the latter. I don't think martinelli, or even Kane, is under an obligation to jump just because the defender might, and they should be able to stand their ground, but in the video above there's definitely arse out movement into the jumping player, which probably can be dealt with by refs.

Again, that’s all true but it shouldn’t matter. It may mitigate a ban, but dangerous play is dangerous play. He should have awareness of where other players on the pitch are.
