Left field suggestions - Gary Bailey (thought he was an excellent keeper, when I was a kid, despite playing for Utd), David Hirst (looked better than Shearer), Dean Ashton (looked like he was destined for good things)
Hurst wasn’t hampered by injuries though….. maybe I’m wrong, he was close to United at one point

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        Great shout.

Poor fella was ruined and his life story is actually really really sad. Ended up as a lorry drover for a brewery when he was more talented than 99% of footballers who just started making huge cash at the start of the Premier league era. Must have been torture for him.

Died aged 46. On Christmas day

Did not hurt that Ajax tops usually looked good with jeans.

For me, Sturridge, injury cursed him, for me, as a number, nine up there with Rush

Was referring to the infamous medical, should probably have put a instead of the grin

Yeah he was certainly a generational talent. If he was playing today he would have the best physical and mental support to be one of the best.

Ox was flying until his injury. Definitely not the same force after.

Danny Ings, would have been brilliant for Klopp
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

From a Liverpool perspective it's hard to go past Daniel Sturridge isn't it?

In recent times you could say Thiago or Gomez.
Interesting premise. I think I would choose Wayne Harrison - I'd love to see what he might have achieved.
                                Really?
