the standards are so low. the inconsistency is laughable. best league in the world apprently..

What is completely unacceptable is that VAR (wrongly) got involved in this situation and got the referee to change his mind. Contrast this to the pen we should have got against Man City where they decided (wrongly) to not get involved and didn’t even give the ref an opportunity to reassess his decision

Two situations where VARs involvement was completely wrong - no wonder people want to see it binned.

Just seen the Newcastle second penalty. What the hell is going on in this league and the refs. Is it incompetence or corruption? I guess we’ll see a heap of players doing this now if they get penalties for it. Instead of stamping out diving and all the unnecessary carry on they are encouraging it by rewarding it like this.

It’s a shambles. I enjoy watching us but the league seems kind of pointless these days as too many points are determined by bull****, be it cheating, refs, injuries, belated points deductions etc

Posted as s the 4th was scored. Looks like VAR intervened and Sheffield United do what teams bottom of the league do beat!

Old fashioned shoulders, the ball changing path makes it look worse, Mudryk is on the wrong side of the ball by then so has to try and come through the defender

I think if that's played a few seconds earlier, you'll see the ball take a big diversion off it's original path. Both players change direction and defender firmly has his eye on the ball.
