Maybe the players know something the rest of us don’t. They’d know within the club how things are looking and it’s got through to the players they’re in big trouble and they’ve just dropped right off.

A decade? He was always suspect defensively, but had a good couple of seasons in recent years. Probably wouldn't even have seen these best years either if Cancelo didn't fall out with Pep.

But point still stands, he is nothing without his recovery pace.

Masch came in after Hamann and didn't win anything. We've improved after Fabinho left and Grav isn't a 'top DM'.

But apart from that...

Despite that, we had one of the best teams in the world with Masch, Xabi and Gerrard in the midfield.

There was a six month gap between Hamman being sold and Masch being bought, but Benitez didnt seem to rate Didi for some reason. The games against Milan and Leverkusen showed how things fall apart without him in the team.

After Mascherano left we were pretty awful again.

Before that with Evans we had the same problem.

Under Brendan we triued to utilise Gerrard, which I thought was unsuccessful.

Grav had all the attributes for a DM before we signed him, but just looked rusty. He is playing like one now (which is my point).

More likely the mood round the club is they are cheating ****s and they know they are getting points deducted sostruggling to get motivated trying to win a league they cant win.
