Might be wrong, but surely this is the season with the fewest number of competitive games in a season for man united. Premier league era so fewer league games than the old first division, dumped out of both cups at the first hurdle and no euro football.....

To be fair, i thought it was a semi.

It's the equivalent of the Community Shield (only they have 4 teams in it, winners of the copa vs league runners up and vice versa, iirc). They've had it there for a good few years now.

Spain have never had a league cup as far as i know.
