From the players perspective though, maybe he'd be better off going to a team where he'd play every week? So unless lfc sell Macca, then I'd struggle to see him play much. Especially under Arne. Suppose if Alonso became our manager, then it might be a different story.

I see it being more likely that Gray signs for another premier league team though - maybe someone like Palace for relatively big money if they sell Wharton for megabucks. Or back to Leeds where he'd be a god

I’ve seen far worse studs up challenges getting just a yellow in the premier league than the red for Wrexham.

It does seem like any contact with studs and shins is now seen as a particularly dangerous contact, but I'm not sure when it why this has happened. Metatarsals, ankles and knees I understand, they're particularly prone to breaking/ligament damage, but shins are not, and they also have the added benefit of having armour mandated for them. A glancing scuff like the one against garnacho does not produce a serious risk of injury imo. And if players want to wear thimble sized pads, that's on them, not the tackler. Yes, it was a poor and cynical tackle, but that's what yellow cards should be about.

Brentford should have had a penalty but VAR failed to send the ref to the camera. Terrible decision. WH still lead 2-1
