Was born there but lived out of Limerick for far more years than I lived there and even when young I had as many years going to school in Liverpool as I did in Limerick, then uni was Cork.
Throw in years in Germany, then some years as an adult back in Liverpool, along with time living in Galway, Cork, Clare and Dublin. And of course nicely settled back on Cork soil again now.
My accent is Irish but not Limerick at all. Most people seem to think I am from Connaught when they meet me with Galway being the usual guess.
And a Shannon accent is neutral???? Bigger chance of you having a Limerick twang on certain words and phrases than I do
