Is it just me or is Curbishley no better

Really, what has he achieved as a manager - promotion took ages and led to immediate relegation before bouncing back the year after. No cups, no titles, not a prticularly nice playing stlye.

At least Pardew got to the FA cup final and had his teams playing attractive football.

I cant see that Crubs will get the players playing any better and they'll go down for sure....

I think, while he’s a decent manager, he’s very much overhyped.

I was DREADING us appointing him before Rafa got the job.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

what has happened with curbs is that his stock as manager has gone up without him managering anywhere. when whe left charlton he was considered a good english manager but with the way charlton started the league and are still going at it all the media are now thinking that the reason charlton where a decent prem side was due to curbs and they are now considering him as a world class manager.

In my opinioin i think he is a good manager, would not have liked him to come to liverpool

I think he is a very good manager. He had the tightest budget of any of the managers who have managed to stay in the PL consistantly (although Fulham may now be worse off - after years of penny pinching Charlton seemed to find the money when Dowie came in). West Ham will be a good barometer of how good he in fact is - he will have some big name stars to deal with and will have money in January and won't have the time afforded him at Charlton to mould the club around his needs. I think he will do well but he will certainly need to work on their defence, with Ferdinand out of late West Ham have looked shocking at the back.

I think Curbishley is a good manager but even if there is not much between him and Pardew I think West Ham had to change it because they were in a mess and need a change to stay up IMO.

I knew that really, but I just couldn't shake the fear.

Didn't Parry say Curbishley came under some consideration at one point?

Curbs is **** id be surprised if he does really good at WH. Once in the prem he didnt nothing with them settled for just finishing outside of the drop.

Curbs is an excellent manager imo, Charlton were nearly out of business until he took over, he brought through and nutured some excellent young players like Parker, L.Young, Jerome Thomas(albeit he came from Arsenal),
he attarctyed players to the club like Darren Bent and Di Canio, he'll do
                          well at West Ham.
