    Chelsea before Roman/Mourinho...

were one of my 'other teams' if you like, i used to love watching the likes of Zola, Desailly, Lebeouf, Vialli, Guillet, Poyet etc, they played some great football, great flair and fairness, Zola was a lovely bloke as to was Vialli
and Guillet, Ranieri was a top man as well, funny as fcuk and never shyed away from criticism. I'd love to see him back in the Prem some day.

Now i hate the ***** with a passion, there just a money machine with an owner that has no real love for the game, an absolute prick of a manager who has little respect for his fellow managers and the opposition players etc, they have some right dickheads in thier team - Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Ashley Cole, Carvalho, Robben etc etc.

I didn't use to mind the team, but the fans were nasty vermin.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Remember how **** Stamford Bridge was back in the day. They used to have cars parked to the side of the goals for advertisement.

I've always like Man CIty as a second team....don't know why though

Chelsea were a weird side a few years ago before Abramovich ruined football.

Great players like Gullit, Vialli and Zola were playing alongside the likes of Eddie Newton and Scott Minto. There was a real mix of the good and the not so good. I can't think of too many teams that have ever had that sort of mix of players.

To think if we had beaten them that day at Stamford Bridge, things may have been so much different for both clubs.

Houllier may never have left us. We might never have appointed Rafa as our manager and missed out on far too much to mention.

Chelsea may never have been bought by Abramovich, gone bankrupt and would not be the pains in the arses they are today.

I thought that summer, before they were bought, we would have bought Duff and maybe lured one of Gallas or Terry from them. I remeber they were broke and still pretty unfashionable
                  We need better attacking players!

                  Torres aint enough

yeah i used to like Chelsea...i'll admit it....

those players you mentioned were awwesome to watch, and Poyet was one of my faves.

Zola was an outstanding player, and a joy to watch.

now, i hate them more than Man Utd

I used to like them as well. Particularly Zola and Gus Poyet. They played some really attractive football, but Andy's right about their mix of good and not-so-good players. Wasn't Frank Sinclair in the same team with Gullit, Vialli and Zola?

They do bother me now, mainly because over here in the States the media is fawning over them as if they're one of England's legendary sides, as opposed to a club who had more of a tradition in hooliganism than winning until Abramovich entered the picture. I'm also bothered by the American fans who just started following football a couple of years ago who are now Chelsea "fans"--give me a ****ing break.

Actually, I'm not too bothered by Abramovich's money now. Chelsea's pretty much reached a critical mass, where they've got enough quality and enough depth that they can't simply buy players left and right because any quality player isn't going to want to be the next Shaun Wright-Phillips. I'm much more worried about what we do than what they do.

I've got to say that I have never, ever liked Chelsea, even when they had the players mentioned above - I respected several of them, like Gullit, Vialli and Zola, but I could never bring myself to like them. Zola and Juninho from Middlesbrough were, to me, looked like two little rat-faced boys playing at footie. Good players, but rat-boys nonetheless...

There has just always been something about Chelsea that I've always disliked.

Now I just ****ing hate them...
