Drogba's a hell of a player...I've liked him ever since he came to Chelsea. Although he hadn't been the most prolific scorer up until this season, he was always dangerous, always involved, and I agree with Red Polo that opposing defenses having to deal with him helped open up things for his teammates.
Don't like his diving or his ego, but I don't think that has anything to do with his ability.
With respect to the money Chelsea paid for him, they can afford it. When you've got that kind of money, you don't need to worry about what a player costs. If the club can afford the player, and he gives them what they are looking for, it's a good deal. I don't think Mourinho or Abramovich are lying awake at night wondering if they could have paid a few million less for him.
