    Roeder named his winter targets?

According to Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday, Glenn Roeder, in an unusual move, has named his January targets as Gareth Bale of Southampton and Giles Barnes of Derby.

As everyone bangs on about those 2 being two of the most promising youngsters, do you think Newcastle will be likely to sign them, or is this yet another case of media stirrings?

Mightn't he get in trouble for that if its true? Thinking of the Beattie to Villa stuff a couple of years ago...

In any case, I very much doubt Newcastle would be able to sign both, or even either of those 2, given the likely competition from other clubs. One would also think they need players capable of slotting straight into their first team, especially defenders, not young prospects

Good idea naming your targets. Helps to keep the price low.

I bet both players can't wait to join the Inter-Toto Cup champions

Tottenham have made a £6m bid for Bale.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              Jesus.

Their transfer policy astounds me sometimes. It's like they have to buy a rash of players for the same position all at once. They overloaded with CM's & CB's, bought 2 new full backs each of the last two summers and now they want more?
