It could have been handled better surely but in the big scheme of things what does it matter....? It's not like he'll have a say in buying the players anyway so he won't be that distracted by the RM job while the WC is going on.

Having said that, this group are experienced enough and they will be able to self manage throughout the tournament although there may be a RM/Barca divide in the camp.

So I read a little more on it and they've done the right thing in sacking him. The players asked for him to be kept but the Spanish FA said no chance - wonder if the president is a Catalan or Basque
