Now the tournament can look forward to the globe stopping exhibition of football that will be England v Sweden.

England might have won, but I think we've all lost.

Exactly my thoughts.

England have only beaten Panama and Tunisia in normal time, the latter just about.

Put it this way I don’t think any team from the other half of the draw will be losing any sleep over facing England

I think that they played well for a half against Panama, scraped a win against Tunisia, and won on pens after a dire game tonight. I thought England were probably the better side tonight, but both teams were poor. They will have to play much better than they have done so far if they are to go further. I know they say you shouldn't peak too soon, but teams who have played better than England have already been knocked out. I think that they have been lucky rather than good so far, but they are still in it so have a chance.

Don't get the hype and just like I mentioned earlier another set piece goal

5 at the back doesn't work for me the midfield is outnumbered fat too often

I think England will beat Sweden.

But if its Croatia in the semis, then a guy like Modric will have a field day. The England team seems to have no shape at all.

Its bizarre, I think this England team manages to be better than Roys one by having a good attitude, and perhaps a few better players and getting rid of the old guard... but other than that, a pretty dismal England team has a chance of getting to the World Cup final.

It's a good result and a big moment psychologically which will hopefully toughen up some of these players. Their performances at this World cup haven't been great, for me they played well for 45mins against Panama and did enough in the other games. They are IMO a better side than they have shown in this tournament so far but if they are to keep progressing they are going to have to improve the football that they play. I just think that that is being realistic. The media are going to up the hype again based on the outcome tonight and the way the draw has fallen rather than because of how they are playing.

Sterling, Young and Ali really stank the place out - it was shocking how many attacks broke down when the ball came to them, their decision making was terrible.

Tripier, Kane and Pickford probably the only players that came out of that game looking like they had actually played football before.

Hopefully this was the low point and things can only get better.

All I know is that there were ****e games that round on England's side of the draw in comparison to the other side.
Probably a good sign of the relative quality of the halves - dull, lacklustre, plodding etc - but at least last night the end of the game and pens injected something.

Ultimately, that won't matter a bean whoever progresses through to the Final so you can only beat what's in front of you. But it's probably fair to say the odds might be on a Brazil-Croatia matchup - but it's not like they've been tearing it up either.
