We need another central midfielder. Gerrard and Xabi will have to get a break sometime and with Momo out we only have Guthrie as cover and he isn't good enough yet. Mascherano can cover for both Gerrard and Alonso.

Mascherano is better than Momo IMO.

Momo is great of breaking up the attacks but he isn't that good at anything else.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

They put JM in a formation - completely forgetting about Momo (who is BOSS). That's what's wrong.

          Can't see it happening personally.
Wouldn't have any complaints if it did go ahead though.

LIVERPOOL are shock contenders to sign unhappy West Ham midfielder Javier Mascherano for £6million.

Representatives for the Argentine, 22, have been in talks with Italian giants Juventus as new Hammers boss Alan Curbishley has ruled the World Cup star out of his plans.

But Liverpool, who were interested in Mascherano last summer, are making a bid to try and take him to Anfield. Mascherano signed a four-year deal with West Ham on transfer deadline day, but he and compatriot, striker Carlos Tevez, have failed to reproduce their international form.

Mascherano has played just five times for West Ham and it was thought FIFA regulations would prevent him from playing for another club this season after also appearing for Corinthians.

But Mirror Sport understands his representatives MSI are "totally unconcerned" by the ruling and that whichever club he moves to will apply to FIFA for special dispensation.

The Kop deal depends on the sale of the club to a Dubai-based consortium.

                    Can`t see that happening.
The good thing is that this report might help us signing Mascherano if he start to think that Juve don`t rate him that highly.

IMO, yes. We need more cover in the middle.
