Upson is way too injury prone all his career, our physios are already busy enough without him joining.
"In fact I’m going to make a promise which will be welcomed by many. If there’s no finance secured by the opening day of the season, I’m going to hang up my keyboard and close KOPTALK down." - Duncan Oldham, Expert Conman. March 29th 2006

Upson ? No thanks but he can stay where he is and take defensive lessons with Steve 'Handsome' Bruce.

He's at his level now I think. Birmingham suit him as he is an average player at an average club.

Me neither. He's ok like, but the English transfer marker is loopy at the moment
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
            Mine angry and defrauded young?

It’s getting out of hand again.

We were led to believe it peaked in around 2001/2, when the likes of Rio Ferdinand commanded fees of £30m and Dean Richards £8m

Somehow though, it’s creeping back up again. Ashley Young for £9m?

              Ridiculous.

Even the Pennant fee was bordering on obscene rip-off material. I dunno how it’s happened, but crazy, loony transfer fees in the British market are back. Some might say they never went away, but it really did calm down for a while.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

This coming summer is going to be even worse; especially if Mister Potato head gets his Brum team back into the Premiership.

With the amount of TV money going to clubs, (increasing by £30M to each club next year) they really don't need to sell to stay afloat, so you have to offer crazy money, double a players worth at the moment at Eng clubs, it's a sellers market with all the cash floating around.

No TV money, and they'd be scrambling at the door to sell players to stay afloat.

Paying Lucas Neill £60k-70k a week is bordering on Leeds-esque stupidity.
