    A good sign

I know Spurs aren't having a great season but beating them today is a good sign and shows we've turned the corner on our away form. After beating the likes of Charlton, this is the first 'tough' domestic away victory.

I thought we played well and really should have been 2 or 3 to the good. Our defenced creaked a bit towards the end but you'd expect spurs to have a go in the last 10 mins or so.

If we had played the early away fixtures now, I think we would have done alot better and the league table would tell a different story. Hopefully we can continue this form for the rest of the season.

I agree with that. The fixture list never even gave us a chance to get in to our stride before bombarding us with trips to woodison, old toilet etc... I know people say that you have to play them some time but all at once isn't good.

On a side note I had trgeted 10 points from the Christmas period and if we beat Bolton we've got 9 so it's not all bad.

This may sound a bit funny but sometimes i like us winning 1 nil in a scrappy, rainy away match when it's backs to the wall stuff as opposed to a 4/5 nil whitewash.
Just shows the character of the team when we fight and scrap like today.
      Very satisfying win.

The way the fixtures have panned out is still something I'm bitter about. Why are we playing Spurs and Blackburn away during the most hectic period of the season while Arsenal are playing Watford and Sheff Utd?

Either way, it was a spirited performance today and despite Spurs having an indifferent season, before today their home record was second only to our own. I think we deserved it as well, especially considering how bad the conditions were in the 2nd half.

We were playing too deep in the 2nd half for my liking though

Yeah and the chavs get Fulham and Reading at home. And the mancs got Wigan and Reading at home. Doesn't add up does it?

You're maybe reading too much into this mate. Luck of the draw seems the most likely cause. Let's not turn ourselves into Mourinhos.
As for those Cup draws, though ....

But put another way, you could argue - City, Wigan, Portsmouth, Fulham, Charlton and Watford (4 at home) in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Look how they set Liverpool up to be in prime form for the Christmas fixtures.

Spurs were putting long balls in onto Berbatov in the last 30 mins. They did nothing of note apart that ... and Finnan almost scoring an own goal would have been a fluke as he was covering.

We played well in the first half and it's a pity we couldn't win at Blackburn. We would have been 7 points behind Chelsea with 17 matches to play.

We still must be more clinical in front of goal as Kuyt missed a sitter in the first half after a wonderful flowing move. What goal it would have been.

thought we played well, though struggled to hold onto poession for long periods of the 2nd half.
was worried when bellamy went off as o how it would effect our play as he was a real outlet for us

I will say that we have turned a corner when the other team score first and the players fight back and win the game.

It was a very good win today and the players as usual when we scored the first goal showed the fighting spirit that they should show every game.

We are probably the best team in the league when we score the first goal but one of the worst when the other team score first.

I hope of course that we always will score the first goal.

The back four was very solid today but Hyypia will probably play against Bolton because he is better in the air than Agger.

We will have a problem if Bellamy won't be fit for the game.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Ermmm this thing cetain people have with the fixtures not favouring us is bull**** and you clearly are stupid. FACT: this is a ****ing league dickheads - you play every team twice, once home and once away. Whats does it matter when you play each team? If your good enough then you'll win. Doesn't matter if you play two strong teams away in 3 days or 2 **** teams.

apart from the occasional change for tv purposes and cup clashes, the league repeats itself.

all teams played once, then all teams played again in a very similar order.
