Attacking weakness makes a strong case for Garcia

I've banged on about midfielders getting into advanced positions a lot and how ours dont do enough of it, which reduces our goal threat considerably.

Once again today, Garcia proved how essential he is to us, from this point of view. Yes, he gives away possession a lot and is frustrating. But he's one of the few non-strikers we have, who gets himself into the opposition box and poses a threat. And there he was today, popping up with a goal.

This factor, combined with how poor our RM and LM alternative options are, makes Garcia an essential starter in the majority of games.

You tend to find that 1st teamers are players who offer something that not many others in your squad do. Bellamy - pace. Gerrard - drive. Sissoko - power and energy to burn. Garcia - goal threat.

The nay-sayers need to acknowledge this point. Garcia must be a regular first teamer.

I like Luis. Always have and always will. He's a big player for us because he add a bit of unpredictability but also scores important goals.

Garcia is our best player in the box. He is better than Kuyt or Crouch in the air. Crouch of course wins more headers but Garcia have much better skill in the air.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It's a non-question for me, we haven't got anyone remotely as good to play out wide, so Luis is an obvious starter. What sums it up for me is that he will lose the ball no more than Pennant but provide far more.

Little Luis one of my favorite players.

True he looses possesion a lot, he's not going to win most 50/50's, he's not that sort of player, otherwise he'd start in the center of midfield.

He missplaces passes cos he's trying the special pass and try's its insintivly.
The speed of the game today its not suprising they don't always come off.

Its also no suprise that when Garcia has his scoring boots on we win.

How many times have we conceeded a goal from one of little Luis missplaced passes?
I can't remeber one, but can from other players.

If fans weren't looking for the perfect player always he'd be a legend.

A player who can create something out of nothing, score great goals, win important match's against the best. Every team needs one.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

I'm a big Garcia fan and I always have been. His strengths and the important things he brings to the team have already been mentioned on numerous occasions. Good in the air, great shot on a moving ball, good vision and great versatility.

His weaknesses on the whole I can accept as well - it's just part of his game. The one thing I think Rafa has to coach out of him is the tendency to do a trick or piece of skill in dangerous areas inside his own half. He cocked one up yesterday that almost led to a Spurs goal.

Garcia's movement and anticipation in the box is probably better then 95% of the strikers in the league.

                      King Luis

Had a great game yesterday and proved why we need to keep him

I love Lil Luis, & I think he's under used by Rafa at times. Yes, he's frustrating, but at his best he can hurt any team in the world. He's nearly always a threat when he plays & I'd play him as the 2nd striker, 'in the hole' rather than out wide. He was excellent yesterday & none of our other midfielders would have scored that goal, he's the only one who consistently gets ahead of the ball.

He is one of our few match winners. He's a far more clinical finisher than any of our strikers and based on that he'd always be in my first 11.

Little Luis provides that something different. He is also our joint 2nd top scoring. That says alot. Also he now has 30 goals in 83 appearances. Not bad at all. He is frustrating at times but genius never comes without drawbacks.

30 goals in 83 games is an incredible statistic for someone who is played out of his natural position most of the time. That sort of goal rate for a midfielder of his age and experience makes him a 15 million quid plus player for me. We signed him for 6 million...f*cking bargain.

Rafa's under used him this season but mark my words, from now until May Luis will play in every BIG game.
