Thanjk you.

Rooney is almost unstoppable when his team are winning and winning well, but when the going gets tough he almost always vanishes. Unlike SG, I don't think I've ever seen him single-handedly drag any team of his from the clutches of defeat.
Agreed entirely.
I rate Rooney, but he's nowhere near as good as the English press would have us believe, he goes missing, repeatedly, in a lot of games.

Was reading a Manc forum earlier after their draw and they're going apre**** about his form, saying he's been absolute ****e all season. He's got a decent goals tally of 8 but I think most have been in 2s against **** teams. He's a cracking player and amazing on his day but defo overrated.
They havent got anywhere near the personnel we have IMO.
The difference? The manager. I ****ing hate Fergie, but know full well he's an incredible manager, the best Premiership has seen, & the best the English top flight has seen since Shankly/Paisley. He openly admits he modelled himself on those two, & it shows every game. I hate him, but if he had charge of our players right now, we'd be top, I have no doubt.
*awaits thousands of posts berating him, & doesnt care*

I disagree that we'd be top, but agree mainly with what you say
The last eight or nine years, we've generally been watching very defensive, one dimensional football, under Houllier and Rafa. It's given us great success in the Cups, but in terms of the league, we're as far away as ever.
I'd love to see some genuine fluency and offensive football being played home and away.
'Boring' football is only acceptable if you're winning on a very regular basis.
With Rafa in the future I think we'll see a mixture of both. He wants his teams to play good football, but at the same time he's a pragmatist. To win some matches you might have to play in a certain way.

Good to see Liverpool's No 1 fan is back on form. I always feel like slashing my wrists after your posts
id rather be winning at all costs, however i think when we go out and attack teams and play the ball about we look at our most dangerous and look like were gona win more often than not!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
The bottom line is I think everyone would be overjoyed if we won the league...boring or not. Football is about winning first and entertaining second. Only two teams have done that over the last 10yrs consistently and that's Wenger's Arsenal and Fergie's Manure. Yet Wenger has only a clutch of domestic trophies to show for it and Fergie has but one major European trophy in 20yrs of trying. When they look back in years to come at these two managers they won't firstly remember the excitement of their teams they will look at their records....because that is how you are judged. You still only get 3pts whether you win 1 nil or 6 nil.
I'd love for us to rip the opposition apart each week but in reality to say we have been involved in the best Champions league final and possibly the best FA Cup final in history in the last 2 yrs puts it all into perspective. We can cherish those victories and the manner in which they were achieved. Any boring performances on the way are long since forgotten.
What's wrong with what he said? There are plenty of other posts (of his and others) that are more overtly depressing.
Get the feeling you've been waiting for his return just to write that
Unfortunately he pops up on other forums so there's no escape and his message is always - but always - the same. His glass isn't so much half-empty as someone's pissed in it and poured it over his head
