Well for what it's worth I thought Pennant's wing play in the first half was woeful. Dunno what the stats were but he seemed to be losing possession every time he got it - Pennant got the ball, lost it, crowd groaned.

2nd half was a big improvement and, even when he wasn't coming up with end product, he always offered an outlet. Valuable assists and good link up play with Finnan and Kuyt. He's got a long way to go though.

Very promising performance today, we need to see some consistancy now.

Thought Pennant's confidence grew as the game went on. He put some decent crosses in today - and obviously had a hand in Crouch's goal.
I thought overall he played well - but he still needs to improve and also learn to take his man on at pace and get the cross in. I still don't think he's good enough for us but today, credit to him, he played well.
BTW - heard Aldo on the radio on the way home from the game and he gave Pennant MOM.

Spot on assessment Shaggy. I was shocked to find out he got MOM on the radio. He was hideous in the first half. Very good second half though.
