His best ever performance in a Liverpool shirt, grew in confidence as the game progressed, nice to see Stevie giving him some praise as well.
Sadly, in all brutal reality, he was only slightly better than average.

I thought he did well in the second half.
Hopefully he will gain some confidence because he does look like he is still lacking it. I think sometimes he looks to pass instead of putting a cross in.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

think he had a ok first half and looked a threat in the second though a few times he passed the ball sloppily needs to cut that out of his game and concentrate more, but glad he kept trying till the end and things started to come off for him!I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.Comment

Pennant had a great second half. No he doesnt pose much goal threat, but to be fair he doesnt get the ball in the areas Ronaldo does. I'd still query whether he could actually finish....but credit where its due.

BTW that cross for Crouch's goal is where crosses should go to.....away from the keeper...allowing the player to attack the ball.
