first home game for 20 years!!

this Saturday, I'll be going to my first home game for about 20 years. My dad had a season ticket in Kemlyn Road in the 70s, and I used to go every home game, but since I moved away, I've not been able to go. It's my lad's birthday and he's never been to anfield and wanted to know if I could get any tickets and I've been lucky enough to get two for Saturday.
He doesn't know about the tickets, and I'm not going to tell him until Friday evening, so it'll be a surprise.
Only question, where can I park?
    I wish it was Saturday!!!

    20 years!!!!!!!

    Wow, no wonder you’re excited.

As for parking it depends on where you’re coming from I suppose. As I always say, the big ASDA car park, behind the Setter & Vine pub on Utting Ave, is the best place to park IMO.

Regardless of where you park, I hope you have a great time.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

thanks, I'll be stopping at my mum's on the way, so we'll be coming down Queen's Dr / Utting Ave. I'm gonna get to the ground early so I can take it all in. I know it my lad's birthday present, but it feels like Xmas again to me!!
I followed the team through the late 60s and 70s, was at the St Etienne match in 77, I can even remember my first game - home v Bournemouth in 1968 FA Cup, we won 4-1 and Emlyn scored an own goal!
Just thinking about this Saturday is giving me goose bumps!!

You've 'not been able to go' for twenty years ?

Come on mate, nobodys going to judge you for saying 'couldn't be arsed'.

I'll be there on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

I moved away from Liverpool nearly 30 years ago. my dad didn't renew his season ticket at that time. However, I have seen the Reds at all of the grounds in the South East, and midlands. It's just that I never had a chance to go back to anfield. My visits to Liverpool are very few and far between and I had never been able to get tickets - until now.

Very judgmental from someone who had a ticket for a game but sold it because he was out on the piss...

And trust me its still as exciting attending now as it was 20 years ago.

As for the parking, I find that parking on Sheil Road about 100 yards before the lights at Belmont Road and Rocky Lane is great. 15 min walk to ground but by going back through Kenny and Old Swan back onto Edge Lane you can be back on the M62 within 15 minutes.

                Enjoy it mate.

Hmm, and deducing this from this being your first post, you've gone from lurking to this?

Or are you just jumping on a bandwagon?

A game that was subsequently postponed due to fog, may I add.

Looks like a made the correct call with that one...

P.s He 'couldn't get a ticket' for a game at Anfield for TWENTY YEARS ? Come on, you cant tell me you dont find that a little hard to believe. Just maybe.

Well, he said his visits up to pool have been few and far between (which could be due to any number of circumstances you and I are unaware of) and I'm not sure but I think he meant that on those occasions he hadn't managed to get tickets.

So I take it you don't have a ticket to the rearranged game having given that ticket away AA?

I shall be there on Saturday wooohoo, but am working on Tuesday having booked a day off for the day when it was ****ing postponed!!!!

Luck rather than judgement unless you really are Michael Fish?

Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Its not really my business. These questions tend to open cans of worms.

I think you should be more worried that I have revealed that you would prefer a night on the piss when you had a ticket in your hand! Oh and that means I've retracted that offer of a lift if you were ever stuck

I'm sure you won't but don't give your ticket to AA, he'll sell it to fund a night on the pop
