Rafa is interested in Ayala according to AS.

He is available on a free and the article also says that Chelsea is interested.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Liverpool, Chelsea eyeing Valencia freebie Ayala
      tribalfooball.com - January 03, 2007

Valencia defender Roberto Ayala has attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

The 33 year-old Argentina international is off contract at the end of this season and his agent is believed to have struck an agreement with Villarreal.

AS says Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bring his old Valencia centre-half to the Premiership, while Chelsea's defensive problems have led to Jose Mourinho also expressing interest in Ayala this week.

And he turns 34 this year, so I can't see the benefit in signing him.

Can't see it happening, we don't need him, unless we get an injury crisis.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

When I saw the thread 4 million for Young after this post I was getting a bit worried.

I think you're too big a risk at 4 million mate

As for being 4 million, I'm not that old.

A couple of years ago he would have been a top signing, but after Pellegrino I think Rafa will steer clear of ageing Argie CB's.
