Anyone who thinks that there is even a remote chance of getting Backham needs to get serious. If he was to draw up a list of his options it would probably read

Madrid (squad player)
Inter (either of the above)
Another big European Club, non English as he has sated he only wants to play for Man U
Another Spanish club - see Valencia, Athletico etc
The Good ol USA for MORE MONEY and some sun (and to be closer to P Diddy and Tom Cruse
Spurs, Arsenal or someone else in London
Burton Albion, Grimsby, Kettering Town
Anyone other than Liverpool
Liverpool at gunpoint
