    The Quadruple

I'd love to wipe the Manc's smug 'Treble Grins' of their dirty faces.

    If we field...

    Reina

    Finnan
    Carra
    Dagger
    Left Back of quality

    Alves
    Gerrad
    Alonso
    Left Mid of real quality

    Villa
    Kuyt

    Subs:
    Carson
    Riise
    Hyppia
    Sissoko
    Bellamy

If kewell comes back all guns blazing then we don't need the left mid of real quality. Also I think Alves would be brought for the RB position, if anything.

I think this is a funny one (peculiar that is). Somehow I just cant see it anymore with Kewell. He's been consistently injured, not played for any consistent length on return from injury, is not involved in the day to day cut and thrust of match preparation and play etc. Maybe its just me but I cant see how he is going to come back all guns blazing and step in. (And he's turning 29 this year, speed and fire surely will be slipping away)

I'd like to see Gonzalez continuing to play (where possible), build up his game and "premiership toughness" and see how it goes.
        'and boy could he play!.

Really? I think Finnan is one of our most consistent players. I think the wings and a goalscorer our clearly our major areas of weakness. You might be proved right but i think Steve has a lot more to offer thic club yet.

Kewell being out for so long, can't see him back to full fitness till next year and by then Speedy will have a full season under his belt.

I think my namesake will never be first choice. I've been extremely underwhelmed and whilst he is the player i am most urging to succeed i think his future may well be as an impact sub and squad player.

I agree on the Finnan point, but he's what now 30? not saying his playing days are over but we need to be readying a replacement for him. I have this feeling that Finnan isn't attack minded enough for Rafa, however if he can play like he did against Bolton every game then I don't see how Rafa can have a problem, because he was fantastic in that match.

But i do think Alves is for RB not RW, but then again I might be proved wrong.

it's all ifs and buts, but we did see an example of this with Solsjaker this season, came back from nearly 2 years out and was doing the business for the mancs.

I have no doubts Kewell can be an excellent player for us, it just depends on if he can keep the injuries away.

A for age, he's only just turned 28 a couple months ago, so there's at least 3/4 good years in him yet if he gets it together.

Your 'If' should probably be in a bigger font size - after all it's a very big if.

cant see kewell solving the left wing coz he will get another injury before the seasons out! id give gonzalez a season stil think he could be a good player for us. (although he needs to start taking people on and harden da **** up) alves would be a quality buy really would love to see him come! and all we would need would be a clinical 20 goals a season fox in the box and we would clean up!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
