Arguably though, Bale would cost them more than Heinze would bring in, if he's sold.

Don't see why he should bale out now, he should wait until the summer IMO

Unless he's going to Manc for an easy league winners medal

Maybe that's true but Bale is apprantly one the next big things and Heinze is injury prone.

                  true

the point being that bale will cost big bucks - the drooling slum landlord wont want to shell out without recouping a large slice of his outllay

He turned down the contract Southampton offered him according to The Mirror.

GARETH IS POISED TO BALE OUT AT SAINTS
                          By John Cross

TEENAGE defender Gareth Bale has turned down a new contract at Southampton, which is likely to mean he will leave the club this month.

The 17-year-old Wales left-back is wanted by Manchester United, Spurs, Arsenal and Real Madrid.

He has 18 months left on his current contract, but has rejected a new one worth £4,000 a week.

Saints will struggle to keep him and may decide not to fight a losing battle and to sell instead.

Because of Bale's age, Southampton would s till be en titled to compensation for him even if he leaves after seeing out his contract.

But a figure would be set by a tribunal and may be less than Saints could get if they were to of fload the youngster during the transfer window.

Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson is leading the pack chasing after Bale, even though Tottenham have made the strongest approach so far with an offer of £6million.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

They can have him we have Insua - this young argie lad is very highly rated by in his home country (much like Bale is rated here) and is seen as a very exciting prospect.

The difference is Insua is going to cost around £1.5 million Bale would cost £7 million at least.
