Carson - Not Allowed to Play in FA Cup this Weekend

    But, surpisingly, Diao can!

Liverpool have NOT given Charlton permisson to play Scot Carson in goal for thier FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest.

This is due to the fact that Rafa doesn't want to cup tie the Keeper in case Liverpool need to recall him to play in the FA Cup.

On the other hand Liverpool HAVE gven Stoke City Permission to play Salif Diao for thier FA Cup tie against Milwall.

      Gosh!

I am in shock that Diao doesn't feature in Rafa's plans.

It was a season long loan though, so why the refusal, Dude on his way?

I think Rafa is just covering his bases.

Hell would have to freeze over for Diao to make a comeback in the first team, but Carson is performing well, and if we are decidely unlucky with injuries he'd be back in the first team pronto.

What about if we traded Carson for Bent + cash adjustment - worthwhile consideration?

Who would be more important to the team, Carson or Bent?

I think Carson is a better goalie than Bent is a striker.
The thing is do we need Carson, and will he except being back-up to Reina?
But if we were to sell Carson I would take the money and look for a striker elsewhere.

Maybe he thinks Forest could upset Charlton therefore making fewer Premiership teams in the cup

I'm sure he's just worried about injuries/suspensions. It's not like Diao will play for us again.

Stoke have been losing all their Premiership loanees except for Diao - and that speaks volumes really.

We have the option to recall him though

Good to see we are being sensible about these things.

Carson is our player and we still could need him. No disrespect but I'd hate to go into a semi final and rely on David Martin should Reina or Dudek be unavailable.
