Young.....I doubt that we will sign him.

      Bent.......Not a chance.

Neill.......I can't see him move to us when he can move to other top clubs and get more playing time.

      McCarthy.....Will probably sign for us.

Villa.......Maybe in the summer but you never know what will happen if the takeover goes through next week.

Carson.......I thought that he was on loan until the end of the season and we have not recalled him as far as I know.

Henry.......It's a bigger chance that we will sign Messi than him.
i think neil will be the only one that will sign for us this window.

        Aussie papers reporting otherwise:

SOCCEROO Lucas Neill was a step closer to a Rovers exit yesterday, but his destination might not be Premier League side Liverpool.

His agent, Peter Harrison, said he had received interest from several European clubs. Blackburn manager Mark Hughes revealed the club had received bids for "significant amounts of money" for the Australian from English rivals.

"There is lots of interest," Harrison said. "I will be surprised if Lucas is still a Blackburn player at the end of the month.

"Liverpool is one option … but there are other big clubs out there."

The mid-season transfer window opened on January 1 and runs until the end of the month.

Neill's contract with Blackburn Rovers expires on June 30, when he would be allowed to leave without the club's receiving compensation, so Rovers' best financial outcome is to sell now and receive a transfer fee.

"January is always a strange month," Harrison said. "There is always a lot of speculation and sometimes nothing happens.

"A lot of clubs have been in touch with me and I know there have been clubs in touch with Blackburn."

Neill will miss the FA Cup tie with Everton this weekend through suspension, so might have played his final game for the Lancashire club.

Hughes is reluctant to lose his captain but it appears inevitable.

"From a business point of view it has to make sense but it also has to make sense from my point of view," he said of any deal for Neill.

"We've been offered significant amounts of money but I can't [find any other player to] spend it [on]. That's the situation we find ourselves in."
