More should be done with the younger generation, hopefully the rtk might help towards this.Originally posted by redlancer View Postcouple of lads came up to me and asked what was going on, and why 96 cos they we told it was a lot less.
Shows you how time has gone on and we need to keep new born Liverpool fans informed of not only our success in football but also the tradigies.

Seriously? I don't mean to be seen as belittling the fans that don't know, but I find it impossible to understand how any Red can be unaware of this.Originally posted by redlancer View Post

Iceman - thank you for your comments and taking the time to answer.Originally posted by Iceman View PostColin that is a fair point................let me try and answer your questions
1 The S*n did produce a half hearted apology.................15 years too late.that is why the boycott continues and to this day sales of tha\t rag are still 30% down on pre Hillsborough sales figures
2 The Inquest: there is still a lot of anger about the fact that the coroner deemed that the cut off time for the inquest was 3-06 even though there was clear evidence from police officers that some of the deceased were still alive after this time...............this effectively stopped any questions about the emergency services response being entered into evidence
3 The Police............there is still much anger about this..........Dukenfield being given permission to wear full dress uniform at the inquest even though he was suspended from duty at the time........... the Judges misdirection at the trial where he asked the jury to consider the possible implications a guilty verdict might have on other police officers in charge of large crowd events..........you simply cannot do this .............. a jury must make its decision on the facts of the case alone and not be swayed by any effect it may have on any subsequent cases

It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

they must of been 18/19 years old.
they did seem more interested in telling us that Bellamy should come on and what was the 96 thing. But thern got the feeling they were asking us as I had loads of anti scum stikers etc on and wanted to know.
did make me feel sad, but put it down to the fact they'd be just born or a couple of years old when it happened and not having a go at out of towners but they weren't from the north west. Its times like these we learn to live again FF

One of the kids in our group who went to the game is about 13 years old and was vociforously singing along to "Justice for the 96". Then at half time turned round and asked who the 96 were.
But that's what yesterday was about - educating people who were unaware of the history of this tragedy.
At the end of the day, we're a global club, with many young fans who are brought up hundreds of miles away from Liverpool, and they can't all be expected to know everything about Hillsborough, especially if they weren't even alive at the time. Doesn't make them any less of fans. I mean the kid was shouting non-stop throughout the whole game, even at 3-1 down when a lot of people were walking out.Last edited by Dhav; 07-01-07, 09:03 PM.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Just remembered...... in the first half we got a corner and there was some lad in the crowd, right by the corner flag, holding up a t-shirt. All I could make out was the word "MacKenzie", then the camera flicked away and gave some obscure coverage of the corner.
Anyone see what it said?Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.
