    Investment Question

Just suppose DIC complete this investment and buy all of David Moores shares. That would make them controlling share holders, able to make virtually any decision on the future direction of the club.
My question is could they change us from being privately listed shares to being listed on the stock exchange and therefore at the mercy of any investors?

The reason I ask is that the plan seems to be to build the new stadium, invest in the team, improve our success etc. Should they do all this, I can't see how they are going to make any money. If they wanted to sell us on, there wouldn't be that many takers. We've seen from the last 3 years how difficult it is to attract a billionaire owner who meets the criteria of the current owners.

So could DIC list us on the stock exchange like SCUM and if so, what does that mean for our future?

mancs are no longer on the stock exchange. they have been bought out.

if we were listed, would make it easier for fans to buy shares, but i think it would also mean more regulation issues

They could if they wanted to, but it wouldnt make sense. They dont need to raise money. They are wealthy enough to run the club as is

Thanks lads, it's the only way I could see them getting any return on their investment, I can't see anyone coming in and buying DIC out but I suppose anything could happen. If we were listed publically then investors would come in and buy differing amounts of shares.
If it does happen then I think it makes the clubs future less certian.

True but it's an investment company isn't it, so surely they are looking for a return on their investment. They won't make any money unless they sell the club at some stage.
Quite happy to be proved wrong about this as finance is not my field

How so? We're already a PLC, just not listed on the stock exchange. It's not a big step for DIC is it?

not really, imagine our current situation, we could be listed, and moores could still own 51 percent of the shares. we wouldn't be in that different a position

By investing in Liverpool and improving us they are increasing the value of the club and also their investment. It's not a short term investment, but will be profitable in the long run.

The major reason for the purchase is always prestige though. The more succesful the club the more prestige for the owner. If profit is the only motive then a football club is a Bad investment. There are much better options available

to be honest, are they really going to make alot of cash from us?

i'm not sure its possible to make a huge profit from buying a club

And we need to get alcoholic beverages off our shirts as sponsors, which will also vastly improve the shirt sales world wide, I wonder how having Carslberg as shirt sponsors sits with the potential new owners?

Liverpool has the potential to be at least as Big as United. That would mean Doubling the Value of the club and their investment
