But he's the Captain, the PFA Player of the Year etc etc, he should be performing ALOT better in those games, influencing things, getting the lads going, just being a fcuking Captain generally.

SG was anonymous for periods today...but as I said I think it's because he was following instructions from Rafa. But the defence were at fault today, not SG. The only thing you could criticise him for was pulling out of a tackle on the edge of the box for Rosicky's 2nd...but I think he did that because he was late arriving, Rosicky was in the act of shooting, and Stevie didn't want to deflect the ball past Dudek.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but Marky is intitled to his own opinion, and he does have a point. Gerrard DOES go missing at times, maybe the standards he has set in other games make us expect more than we should realistically expect from the guy at times.

He is having an average season so far this year, and before anyone chirps up with "so are lots of players", Stevie is widely touted by many as our only world class player, and our star player, so I think it is fair to expect your best player to be the best player on the pitch for you most of the time.


I think that this season, Stevie has been nowhere near as good as some say he has been, but nowhere near as bad as others would like to make out he has been.
