It's ridiculous that we can't get past naming Owen, there are other players than him.

Owen's had a decent career, he's past his best now though and is not the answer in my opinion.

OK so who else - realistically? The Greek lad we nearly signed in the summer? Ronaldo? Raul? Cassano? Or someone Rafa has chased before like Mista?

                        Villa, maybe.
I also believe that Rafa would consider Torres.

I don't rate Bent. Rafa might though.

Here's a controversial one (Assuming we have DIC funds)...Rooney?

He'd NEVER play for us, ever

and scum would never sell to us

"What DIC is doing is planning to make sure that, if a deal is done, Liverpool has the best possible funding in place going forward under DIC stewardship.

"This is particularly important as we would need to get on with the stadium early in 2007, and it takes time to sort out the necessary financing.

"This is also important in terms of making sure cash is available for the ongoing strengthening of the playing squad."

This tells me we are not going for Ronaldo, Raul, Mista, or any other striker who is not world class right now. Other parts of the field is different but in terms of attackers we need to go for the best.

So what options do we have in this transfer window and in the summer...

Tevez, Klose, Huntelaar and Villa is probably the four names coming up first.

Torres isn't good enough IMO. He is to lazy and goes down to easy.

Defoe hasn't been a good enough goalscorer so far in the PL and he would be very expensive.

There isn't that many proven PL players that is good enough.

Maybe Bojan Krkic who is the best ever scorer for Barcelona's youth teams. That would be a huge gamble of course and would probably only be an option as our fourth choice striker.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
