...on the one hand they got all the passion and commitment the club can offer and, despite the result, the team did try their best (IMHO)...a defeat, despite lots and lots of huff and puff and unreal amounts of posession...and a clear idea as to what's going to be required in terms of new heroes...

They would have seen tonight what amazing fans Liverpool Football Club have.
Anybody is entitled to an off day on the pitch. Today was one of those days. The fans were fabulous tonight and to me, if the DIC's were in any doubt, they would have seen exactly what this club is capable of.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

A lad that came with us today is actually a Charlton fan, and he took the spare ticket. The only time he'd been to Anfield was with Charlton in an FA Cup game in the 80s.
He was absolutely blown away. His actual words to me, after about 15/20 minutes of the game, which was his first opportunity to be heard, were "this is absolutely fackin' mindblowin' mate, mindblowin'".
A job well done I think. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
