damn striaght. He is class, and has actaully looked alright IMO

I would walk over fire for him to be a Red in January. He is simply breathtaking in full flight, and would totally change our style of play in the attacking third.

    If only hey

We have our "Cantona" signing already in Gerrard. What we need is a Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ruud Van Nistlerooy

      Then we're rocking and rolling

I completely agree and have been saying this for a long time, we need to find a player on that level up front, we don't have the creativity and goals from the midfield to make up for it, especially from the wings.

Let's be honest, Peter Crouch doesn't scare any team, even our goal last night, if it wasn't for Kuyt deflecting it past the keep it would have been yet another tame header straight at the goalkeeper. He's obviouslya nice guy and could do a job for a lot of teams, but he's not Premiership winning material.

Kuyt is great and Bellamy on form is a worth while player to have, but we need a top class first choice striker who can make things happen to play with one of these two.

          Could not agree more.

Gerrard should realise he should be our Cantona.

Aye! Gerrard is unique and IMO much better than white-belt kung-fu master Cantona.

Just to clarify what happened with Cuntona and Sheff Wednesday.

Trevor Francis was the man to bring him over to England, and took him on trial for Wednesday. He played a game behind closed doors but Francis wanted another look at him. They had no games coming up, so Francis included Cantona in a squad to take part in an indoor 5-a-side tournament. Cantona couldn't believe Francis needed another look at him, and refused to take part. He walked out and Leeds snaffled him up.

Very true. He still should play more like him.

For example, when Henry and van Persie walked onto the pitch tonight, I thought to myself, "I hope those 2 don't have good games tonight". They didn't - but Henry still managed to nail the final nail in our coffin near the end.

That's what we're missing. Someone to take us to the next level.

I know I posted this in the middle of another thread but I think it's a good topic for discussion so i thought it deserved it's own thread.
I have to say for a long time I've felt we needed a little magician on the park exactly as you are saying mate, I 've said this several times on KT.
Also I would disagree with the other poster saying that Rafa doesn't like that type of player, Garcia is that type of player but without the consistency.
He had Aimar at Valencia who played a major role in their success.
Some might say that Stevie G is that type of player for us but I wouldn't class him that category, Dalglish, Macca(to a certain extent) and most definitely Jari are the type of player we are missing.
Not easy to come by and established ones are generally not cheap (except Macca going to Madrid and Jari when he came to us).
Kewell would come into that category also certainly in his hey day anyway.

Just said almost precisely the same thing in the 'Please Rafa' thread.
