Football isn't so much a team game that there is no need for individual flair within the team framework. Every team unit needs players of quality that can perform well in the one-on-one situations, and that's what we lack in certain areas.

Every team in the world is looking for better players.
What I am concerned about with us is how we play. It is a combination of those two things and in terms of team play IMO we are playing far worse then we are abel to.

Are you saying Kuyts and Pennants performance against Bolton is not a good example of team play?

Pennant isn't good enough when we play against a top team. We need players who will perform against all teams week in week out.

When Rafa gets that then it will be less rotation and the players will play better together IMO.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree it's not easy to sign quality players, but you're not Chelsea if you do.

Look at the other top teams in the league and tell me we are not limited in the things we do by our personnel. We're lacking when it comes to wingers and any fool can see that is limiting us when it comes to actually implementing a gameplan.

No but you are if you pay over the odds for players and give them so much money they do not care who they are playing for.

I agree, but we dont have to turn into Chelsea just to sign better players. We payed £7 mill for Pennant, that way too much imo. We just need to be able to sign the players Rafa has on top of his list. And I dont meen Ronaldinho.

But we did try to sign the players at the top of his list, the club will not bankrupt itself or be held to ransom by clubs like Sevilla. I would rather have players like Pennant and Bellamy who want to play for us. Kuyt was top of his list and we got him, we missed out on Alves but Sevilla obviously did not need to sell him, as with Simao last summer.
Everyone wants dream players but without stupid amounts of money you have to pick these up before they hit one of the real big money clubs. People suggest players like Deco, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Diego. We are always far too late, and with our employment laws it is really difficult to pick up South American players early in thier career.

If we can't afford a player who's good enough then it's simple. Don't waste the money on someone who isn't, make do with what we have and come next transfer window we have more to spend.

Would be better with 15 quality players then 25 mediocre. Not that we have 25 mediocre players. Quality before quantity.
