Pass the first round and go all the way

Just an interesting stat that in cup comps under Rafa we either go out in the first round or go to the final:

04/05

FA - Out in first match
Carling - Final
CL - Final

05/06

FA - Final
Carling - Out in first match
CL - Out in first match (of knockouts)

06/07

FA - Out in first round
Carling - Past the first round
CL - ??

I don't know if we develop some sort of belief when we get past the first round, but I just thought it was odd. So going by those stats we're going to the Carling Cup final this year, as for the CL well a performance like yesterday and we won't be going much further than the last 16.

Also if looking for omens, Rafa has won a trophy in each of his first two seasons, the only one left is the Carling Cup so maybe thats all for this year.

who knows; this maybe a blessing in disguise? I posted about us not being able to defend the trophy, but when we get knocked out of the first round we do end up in a final! Who know's number 6 in Athens?
