    Crosses

I think that we're overdoing it on that front. We don't get behind defenses often enough and we just opt for the cross from deep most of the time. Our accuracy on that front too is a little bit off the mark, IMHO.

We need a bit more in the last third and with players such as Alonso, Gerrard and probably now Mascherano, we should be able to profit from movement by Bellamy and Kuyt and play more one-twos in and around the box. Our passing isn't what should be expected from a top 3 side in my opinion and that's been our undoing this season.

its where we aim the crosses thats the problem IMO

too often it goes far post, you will rarely score from there.

We need to learn to cut it back across the box like Arsenal and Man Utd do. they dont score alot of headers, but the majority of their goals come from thes cut backs across the six yard box for the wingers to smash in

Pennant, Garcia, Gonzalez, Riise, Finnan - it doesn't matter which one we pick out of the bunch but we have no-one who automatically takes up the offer of getting to the bye-line even though it is regularly offered to them by defenders showing them outside. When Pennant (in particular) has managed to get behind defenses his crosses have caused havoc, but crosses that come in from areas level with the edge of the penalty area (or further out) are much easier to defend and have to be absolutely perfect to be effective. Get the defenders facing the wrong way and the cross doesn't have to be particularly good to cause panic in the box, but hey what do I know?

it doesnt really matter how many crosses we put in as none of strikers can head a ball anyway
