thats a very open interview from rafa.....quite refreshing from his usual stuff.Originally posted by Jack D Rips View Posthttp://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0...name_page.html
When you read this its very hard to disagre with it. Im one who is not too worried anout going out of the CC, although I am about the manner in which we did.
I remember well after the Birmingham match when Momo got injured, saying WTF was he playing in the CC for.
He also must rate that McCarthy kid quite highly to mention him in an interviw like that.
on the negative side....doesnt sound good for Luis

The kind of reaction I was looking for from Rafa. That should surely shut a few people up.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

yeah we all wanted that kind of reaction...and he gave an honest reasoning for the game, and what he wants fixed etc....great to see. He hasn't had to do that very often."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

i reckon we can all discuss footy, even with differing opinions, as mates though.

Absolutely Al – it kind of irks me when certain people on LFC forums see a difference of footballing opinion as a signal to declare anyone who disagrees with them as “a ****” and other such charming labels.Originally posted by alunevans View Postits ok. i like larry david so you're forgiven.

It only happens on-line – in real life, I disagree with my LFC mates all the time but it never, ever descends into the sort of **** you see on certain forums – and I’m sure it’s not just me & my chums. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I agree with the underlying sentiment post match - don't you just love hindsight!Originally posted by Harveybirdman View PostReally people cmon...get some perspective here. Its the frigging Carling Cup. Ive seen some knobhead calling for Rafa to be sacked on 6CM
We played alot of youngsters, who dont look ready, but this is the perfect opportunity for them to play...a nothing competition. Sure they were shown up by the Arsenal youngsters, but it was bound to happen.
I had a feeling we would get smashed, and it turned out to be that way. Do i care? sort of...its not pretty to look at. But does it matter? no!
Why? because we have bigger things to worry about. namely Barca and catching Chelsea.
so sort your heads out and calm the **** down
Yes we have bigger fish to fry.
Yes, most people have been moaning that we're just a cup team and we need to concentrate on the league - we can now
Yes some nobber on 6CM suggested that Rafa be sacked but he is a nobber of the highest order on a consistent basis
But last night was more than a tad humiliating
But, that was hardly our reserves
But, why did Rafa field 3 left sided players and force Guthrie out of position and why didn't he change it when Gonzo went off.
Why didn't someone put a brick ****house tackle in on Fabregas from the off to show them we meant business - take the booking but let him and others know we were there.
The fall out from this will only get higher if we put in another performance like this at Vicarage Road (god forbid).
At the end of the day if anyone had offered us the straight choice of being third in the league and in with a chance of challenging Chelsea OR a chance of a winning the Carling Cup then surely for the sake of progress towards number 19 we'd have taken the former.
Last night hurt, no doubt about it. I was proud to be a Reds fan in terms of the support but not proud of my team in terms of the performance.
But it will be forgotten if we continue to progress in the league and if we progress versus Barca. Either way time heals.
For the older Reds, think back to a League Cup game in the early 90's v Chesterfield and we didn't even lose that one! But we were only going one way then and that was backwards. I'm not sure its quite the same after this result despite the reasonable equality of the humiliation. Are you the Judean People's Front?

Why didn't you just say you're a fairweather supporter in the first place? Would have saved me the trouble of picking holes in your arguement.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postcleverer than you thats for sure! Did you think we would play our full team? i certainly didnt, and i know Arsenals kids are better than ours (i'm man enough to admit that) so putting 2 and 2 together we were in for a tough game.....i didnt expect us to lose 6-3 though.
your just picking out random pieces of text and spinning them into your arguement now. That "it doesnt matter" is that we are out of the CC, im not losing any sleep over it anyway.
LFC isnt my life, like it obviously is to some of you. I love watching us play, and going to Anfield is a major highlight in my life to date......but if we lose it doesnt effect me mentally as it does to some of you.
Dan/Shags - he started it! Honest!

The thing is mate, when we said we were just a cup side, we meant that we only win cups but not the league. We aren't going to win the league this year so the prospect of us concentrating on that is hardly something that fills me with anticipation.Originally posted by Spionkop69 View PostI agree with the underlying sentiment post match - don't you just love hindsight!

Its hardly progress to go from a cup team to a cup team who gets dumped out of two cups in three days, in order to concentrate on the league that we won't win.
Also, I fail to understand why we can only finish 3rd or better if we refuse to try to win the Carling Cup. Once we knew that the FA Cup would no longer happen for us I don't see any real reason to justify not playing a properly strong side.

Some of the comments in there were thinly veild attacks on the current board for not backing him sufficiently in the transfer market. All of those comments were fair IMHO because the board hasn't done enough in certain situations to back Rafa.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!
