    Rafas Post Match Interview

Sounded like a man who's lost the plot.

His mumbling about it being difficult when a team concedes 4 goals, didn't acknowledge how poor we were and gave no credit to Arsenal.

His only reasoning seemed to be the fact that Arsenal had 4 chances and scored 4 (at 4-1) and at that point "it becomes difficult".

With regards to the Carra on sub that people are questioning, I think it was down to the fact that the game was lost and we'd already had Garcia and Gonzales stretchered off. At that point there was no point risking a forward when our attack is in jeopardy.

Watching that display tonight, the young talent on show from Arsenal and our equivalent youth was an embarassment. Just what on earth is going on with the youth academy, is there an issue with our scouts?

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

nail on head the sickning thing is how good some of the arsenal kids looked.
Whereas ours looked liked overweight kids having a kick about after going chippy
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Same aul ****e he always comes out with, how about a little honestly and respect for all those Liverpool fans who were there tonight and those watching on telly??

Exactly that's the key word here "respect" or lack of. Almost 100 years since the club conceded 6 goals at anfield and it happens in a quarter final against a reserve arsenal team. Whats most annoying is that we could have won that only for Rafa's ****in kamikaze management. 9 changes is just beyond belief. His "rotation policy" has cost us dearly this season.
        Dare we believe

Rafa Benitez claims he is not dwelling on the FA Cup defeat against Arsenal and insists: "Tuesday will be different".
Liverpool are preparing to face Arsenal for the second time in four days, this time in the Carling Cup quarter-final.

"Tuesday will be a different game. Maybe I will make a few changes to the team I originally had in my head for the match," said Benitez.

"We will have to see how the players are before picking the team, but it is more important to stay in the Carling Cup now."

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

well it was different, we got beat by 3 goals this time, and with completely different players, so you can't say he was wrong, so if you ask me Rafa = Legend

I'm interested to see how he reacts to this - not the players.

What was he supposed to say?

The Team is ****. The players are useless. That would be pointless and would really get me worried.

No but he could at least say 'the performance was unacceptable, we need to do better' etc not talk about the injuries cos they weren't the reason why we lost.

Agreed SAR, there's not much you can say on TV. I think he was remarkably restrained.
If he had let out his true emotions, he'd be all over tomorrows papers and he would regret it bitterly.
Never react in the heat of the moment, do your duty (TV interview) and walk away.

but he won't and you know he won't so it surprises me that anyone would expect anything different.

The reason we lost was because Arsenal were really, really good and we weren't.

Yep, save the real rollocking for the players. It's counter productive criticising players in the press as it would just be another headline for the gutter press to write.

Rafa never states the Obvious. Accept it

The players will get it. Dont worry. I think a few players have convinced Rafa that they are not Good enough

well said. He would be livid underneath, and im sure would let them know about it in the dressing rooms....but doing that on TV would be an incredibly bad thing. It will be interesting to see what the players reactions are on Saturday
