    Is Rafa too stubborn?

Take the Jerzy's selection for the last two matches. I don't think its unreasonable to say I think Pepe could have saved all three on Saturday.

We were dumped out of the FA Cup by rivals, at home, in the third round of the cup. Not only that, we had to face the same team four days later. Why given his poor form in our last match, was he played again tonight? A promise? Obviously tonight's performance was made even more important by the fact we lost on Saturday, desipte it being the 'lesser' CC.

And then, without started the usual and overdone debate, there was the whole 'stevie on the right' issue and Rafa's apparent refusual to budge.

I dunno. It's obviously good in a way - unswayable to *prolonged* media/punditry interference. But its how far does he take it? To the point of use under-performing? Losing CC semis?

Anyway - back to the darts

You've got to be stubborn to be a good manager. You have to have incredible self belief otherwise your players and staff see you as weak-willed.

Is keeping a promise to a player a sign of being stubborn?
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

no, it is a sign of being silly when the promise brings upon disasters.

i think he's often too clever by half more than he is stubborn. the key question though for me is this. how can wenger get his young lads playing pass and move football when rafa still hasn't produced that from his men?

i dont think rafa is stubborn, he tends to learn from his mistakes so i can accept he will learn from this, its all you can hope for really

i think rafa will begin to produce that kind of football when hes been in the job as long as wenger. wengers been in the job long enough to have the coaching staff and the players made up entirely of his choices. as a result they are more cohesive. the same cant be said of liverpool, there are players and staff that are holdovers from previous eras. rafas only just begun to buy young players so i dont think he can be judged yet in that area. i know most of the young players he buys are highly rated and the scouting network seems much more effective as we are in for top youngsters. so the future looks a bit brighter than last night makes it seem. after that pasting an emphasis on youth will probably be a high priority from now on if it wasnt already

I'm not talking about personnel though. I'm talking about pattern of play.

and im saying pattern of play depends on the personnel. give rafa a few more years in the job and we'll develop a more cohesive style
