I'd have Folwer on the bench for most matches as I don't believe he's up to playing week in week out these days due to his lack of fitness/injury worries.

Having that option on the bench is a plus, and if things don't go to plan then we can always bring him on to try and get that crucial goal, can't we.

Robbie's goal the other night was typical Robbie, a finisher who knows where the net is, and to have that option in your squad regularly is a huge bonus. Look at Solskjaer with the scum, he's suffering with injuries like Robbie and he's usually found on the bench ready to come on if needed, when fit, and that is what we should be doing with Fowler also.

Give him a place in the matchday squad regularly, as long as he's fit to take part, and we should see him banging the goals in when called upon, I'm sure, but I feel he's just not up to a regular start these days what with his fitness worries and the pace of the game today.

Difference is that Solsjaer has still got decent mobility in comparison to Fowler.

However, with our lack of real goal-scoring class through out the side, I would still put Fowler on the bench, at least.

Solskjaer can run though Taffy mate - Robbie is so unfit it's untrue. Did I once hear/read that his ankles were in such a bad way that they're the equivalent of a 60 year olds?

It's a difficult one because obviously the football brain, ability and talent is still there, but without a run of games he'll never get to a match standard where he'll be useful for us.

The finishing ability is still there but he is much less mobile and too slow these days, he'll never even get close to getting a even a little bit of that back without games, but we can't afford 10 games just to give to him to get him to a level which is better but still not what we need.

As for the comment about him never having legs, did you ever watch him play? He was never super quick, but in his younger days he was quite nippy, he certainly got himself into positions very quickly and outwitted defenders with the pace, quick thinking and mobility he did have.

True he doesnt have the legs, would it be worth getting him into some sort of player/coaching role for us?
the fact that he scored, proves you don't actually need "the legs". still our best finisher by a mile and deserves to be included.

Even if Rafa did give him 'a run of games' would Fowler actually be able to manage it? I thought part of the problem is that he can't play week in week out and therefore can't get any fitter. Catch-22 innit.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                          Never had legs? Rubbish.

I'm astounded that people actually reckon he should start for us. He could barely move out there against Arsenal.

Fowler's a legend on and off the pitch. I'd certainly keep him at LFC after he retires. Without a shadow of a doubt! He's the most naturally born scorer I've ever seen.

Yes, cause Djorou neerly killed him in a tackle earlier in the 1st half, remember? And he got hammered again and again by Arsenal youth as if they wanted to keep him quiet by making dirty tackles. And he still popped up and score a fantastic goal.
