    Bellamy

Can't make my mind up about him

pre court case thought this aint going to work out

post court case and with partner Kuyt sudenly there's angled runs and through balls

then last night angled run through on goal one player to beat ended up passing the ball.
how we need an Owen type who after using his pace who'd of got a shot in.

Maybe its the paper talk of Villa but he didn't look right last night.

On many attacks in 2nd half Bellamy was on the wing helping whoever out, Fowler was in center circle catching his breathe. No one in box.

It was like we were playing 4 6 0 at times.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Never rated him and still don’t. He’s gonna need to offer us a HELL of a lot more than he done and is doing for me to change my mind. Verdict so far? ****e.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think that's a little harsh on no neck. In the last two months, he seems to have been finding his feet, and he does offer somethings that none of our other forwards offer. He was not a player that I expected to ever see play in a Liverpool shirt, but now that he has, he has turned out differently that what I expected. I'll give him until the end of the season before judging him (not that I have much choice )

He annoys me when he can't stick a decent cross in. He hardly looks up. He rarely gets a shot in. The only thing he has going for him is pace, which seems to be the minimum requirement these days to be considered a 'player'.

Sounds like Baros all over again.

I much prefer Bellamy to Cisse, although that is not saying a lot in fairness.

I don’t reckon it’s harsh mate. He’s scored, what, five goals? Five ****ing goals and we’re well over halfway through the season! So yeah….****e!

Bellamy is better than Baros but not by much.

I wonder if the reason to why Carson didn't was allowed to play for Charlton is that Rafa will recall him and sell Reina as part of a deal for Villa.

If Rafa sold Bellamy then he would probably have to pay the money he gets for him plus around £7m-£10m plus Reina to get Villa.

Not impossible if you ask me.

Strange decision not allowing Carson to play and now signing a young Italian goalkeeper on loan.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I thought he was utter gash last night, constantly offside, one decent chance and he passed instead of shooting. If a decent offer came in I'd be very very tempted to sell him.

Well by that logic, Kuyt must be ****e as well as his goal tally is not much more. What about Stevie G? He was banging in goals last season, has got four so far in the league.

I'm not overjoyed with the returns from any of our frontmen, but we are stuck with them for a time. I think Bellamy will end up our top scorer this season, not saying much on the form of our goalscorers at present I'll admit.

Kuyt makes our other strikers look better than they really are IMO.

He works hard and that opens up space for the other striker.

Kuyt joined the club with the season well underway and already has scored more goals at a much better ratio than Bellamy.

Wait til Rhodri sees this thread. He'll cry.

I rate Bellamy, always have, he's a very dynamic player and excels when played in an exuberant team that attcks with pace and flair.... a way that we rarely manage to play. Kuyt and he look like by far our best partnership at the moment, and I still believe they're good enough. Not sure about quite a few others in the squad though
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                          Mine angry and defrauded young?

Bellamy is an ace. He should be given better service than he gets now. He's a player who makes runs all the time and the only way to get the better of him is to play him with the type of balls he likes, i.e balls into the channels where he will exploit his speed.

He's way much better than Owen IMHO.

Not much better than Owen, But Bellamy is still IMO a good player.
The team still isnt playing like a unit attacking wise unfortunately, thats bound to effect individual performances. I'm afraid the solution to this lies with our approach to the game, we are predictable in our approach now it seems, a patern is developing where we have one overlapping winger all the time. with little or no movement through the middle to vary the play. Then if there is movement though the middle, that person is isolated and with no backup or others trying to make clever runs to help out.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
