    It's a fine line

A lots of ifs and buts for me last night:

IF the linesman had flagged for their offside goal instead of ours (which was about the same distance offside) then its 5-4

IF the ref had given us a penalty when Bellamy was pushed in the box then it could have been 5-5

IF the referee had not given that stupid free kick for Baptista's goal then it could have been 5-4 to us

IF the ref had given us a free kick when Guthrie was bundled over and then gave a corner which in turn produced goal number 3(or was it 4) then it could have been 5-3 to us

IF Aluminia had been our reserve keeper and Dudek theirs then we could be in two cups still

Now I know all of this is a bit extreme but there were factors last night that did not help. I thought that the refereeing performance was as poor as I have seen for some time and he did not help one bit. Added to that, given the news of our injuries, then are we sure that we wanted to play a full team last night for something that is still bottom of our priorities?

I think there has been such an overreaction about last night its nonsensical. I hear "Arsenal reserves turn Liverpool over" then the next sentence is how wrong Rafa was to play that side. Well they either beat a strong Liverpool team or they didn't??? I for one am not bothered as I am still convinced that there are better things around the corner. I also believe that we saw the beginning of the end of some players as Liverpool players last night.

    Onwards and upwards

That is the funniest post i've ever read. We'd never lose a game if your "if"s came true .

The point is the word "if". Small word, BIG meaning.

you are totally missing the point of it. I am sugegsting that there is a fine line between success and failure sometimes. When we succeed we are world beater, yet when we cross the thin line and fail then we are a disgrace. Its total overreaction

I'm not missing your point at all mate. I'd just rather deal with facts than ifs, buts and maybes.

and the facts are? we are ****? rafa must go (which I have read and heard today)? we are a million miles behind the top teams? they are just as much ifs buts and maybe yet its all I have heard and read today.

The point I am trying to make is not in the Ifs and buts its the next part

I am tyring to qualify my opinion that I am not actually 10% as bothered as I would be if we lost in the same manner in another competition, and also trying to say that 6-3 was not a true reflection.

Not what I'm saying at all. When did I say we were ****? What I'm saying is that Rafa and the players to a certain extent failed to respect the fact that last night was a real chance for us to go into the semi final of a cup competition and possibly go to the final. As a result we were beaten and conceded soft goals for the second time in a week. Those are the facts.

At no point did I say or even suggest that you did. I asked you for the facts as you saw them. Then repeated what I had read and heard today as fact.

Okay, fair enough. What I said are the facts as I see them. I don't want Rafa to be sacked, I don't think we're **** but I am gutted in the manor in which we lost last night.

I would like to see some more respect from Rafa in regards to competitions that we're playing in, in future. There was nothing to be gained in resting players last night because they'll all have a weekend off in 2-3 weeks when the F.A. Cup 4th round matches are being played. Just how I see it.

I'm not too sure whehter this is true. I mean, if your auntie goes through gender re-assignment surgery, does that make her you uncle? Genetically she is still your auntie.

If Alonso didn't score the equaliser against Milan we would've lost 3-2 and the Champion's League Final. Gerrard would've gone to Chelsea and we would've sank to mid table mediocrity.
